"Everybody Say Yeah"! OSF Stevie Wonder

I had to choose Fingertips because of the preacher-like call and response routine of "Everybody Say Yeah"! But also because it is reminiscent of the music and parties of my pre-adolescent days. Stevie, displaying his genius on the harmonica and bongos, was an inspiration to many of us children during this historic period.

Yeah!Yeah!

Music was really good back then. Even the commercial songs played on black radio stations sound like gospel songs. Otis Redding. Aretha Franklin. James Brown. Stevie Wonder, to name just a few. "Fingertips" is a good example.

Happy OSF! One of the remarkable things about Stevie Wonder is that he has been able to transcend generations of music from his early days as a child prodigy. As I type this I realize I need to head to the library to see if he has an autobiography that i can read or listen to...

I invite your blog readers to check out my favorite Stevie Wonder song if they have time or inclinaton. Of course, you should only do so if you are superstitious!

Yeah! Stevie is the man - a musical genius. His music sounds good from generation to generation.

Speaking of call and response, I'm preaching Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, from Mark 13 - keep me in prayer. ("The Capacity to Hope")

Hi Pastor,

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I don't think I had ever seen a photo of Stevie at that age!! Wow. When I was a little one, he was already 30 or 40 years old! *LOL*

I forgot about some of his earlier music because I was a little munchkin when "Songs In The Key of Life" was the smash of the year!!

Thanks for sharing!

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
Lisa

@Lisa: (Closer to 25 when it was recorded.) Continue the great work that you are doing, it will pay off with results. You are a blessing.

SjP: They are just that memories - I can't move like that now, it hurts! (lol)

Mac, Kim, Villager: Y'all good people. Thanks for stopping by.

HD: Preach the Word! In season, out of season; when the blog is up, when the blog is down....

This song makes me want to transport back in time and to the mashed potato or the swim or some uninhibited dance that is just silly but fun. :)
