For obvious reasons I am going to be liberal in my take on this theme (not that I couldn't otherwise.) Anyways, back in the day, I would 'jack moms for her car when she went to sleep, fantasize about my worth, and pass off the car as my own "ride" in order to impress my friends, especially the young ladies. "Keeping up with the Joneses" fever can easily affect all of us and is not to be merely confined to adolescence. However, since that time, I have evolved and learned to Be Thankful for What I Have.

MOrnin' Rev!
Hey, I can understand why you had to kinda sidestep that one, my brother, but you made a great choice. And I really like the video of our First Lady that goes with it.
Happy OSF! And thanks for dropping by the Spot!
That was the jam back in the day! Great video as well. Happy OSF!
Oh, I am so cracking up at you "jacking your moms car" - I used to hotwire our '55 Chevy and disconnect the odometer to go cruisin' while my Mom was at work!!!
I guess I started my life of crime early so it's no wonder I have come to this: 13 Ways to Murder a Wild Peep - Caught in the act! IF my Mama only knew about this she'd be whirling in her final resting place! (Sorry Mom, it wasn't your fault, I just went down the wrong road!)
Happy OSF, Rev!
Rev.great pick love it.
Gratitude came hard for me in my first 4 years of sobriety. I had to let go of my anger and get out of my pity pot. Now, 14 years later I am overwhelmed with the blessings I have in my life. You can be sure I count them daily.
This was a wonderful interpretation of this week's theme. The music and the video are right on time. Be Thankful!!! So true.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend and Easter.
Great song, excellent video. Thank you for lifting my spirits today. Liked the story also about you sneaking out with the car.
Listening to "Be Thankful" again. Glad you took the meme theme in this direction, Rev. :-)
Great choice Rev! I like your spin on the theme and understand your maintaining your status!
Excellent interpretation, excellent song, excellent story!
I can always count on you, Rev, to uplift my spirits!
Nice interpretation of the theme. I am sure you were a perfect angel and have nothing to confess that your mother would shudder at. Well, at least that is the case for me. LOL
Happy OSF!
Happy Easter Double L!
Jaycee
Yeah!
This is a good twist on the theme.
We all have a lot to be thankful for!
This is really a nice video Revvy!
Happy OSF to you!
Thank all y'all for sliding thru and for the good words. I am praying for you all: D, Pjazzy, PA Diva, Annie, Miles, SjP, VP, JC, Regina, Mavalus, Ms.LadyD, PostRacial, that God's face will and continue to shine upon your lives.
This theme can be made to mean whatever you chose, it's just a prompt. If Mama Only Knew...You honored the values she taught you, and it made you a better man...
Great Choice!
I am significantly more appreciate of my life now than I was pre-Sept 11th. I assumed that I would always a high-paying job. With that, I could purchase most anything I wanted. Well times changed, no job for 14 months. Even when I did get a job, it was less than half of previous income. With Hubby layed off too, it wasn't enough. So bye-bye house, leased cars. Hello mountain of debt.
I'm so grateful Mom offered her home to us. The rest is a blog post (soon). Needless to say, my view on life, family, friends, possessions, etc. has changed dramatically.
Wow! I'm going through a mini-crisis of the same. I may have to give up my current "ride" for something older and paid for.
Thanks for helping in my valley of decision. I had to add this link and update to my recent post.
God is good!
